About 100 nonprofit legal aid groups in California receive grants each year from the State Bar of California to provide free legal services to low-income Californians. This work is managed by the State BarsLegal Services Trust Fund Program.
Applications for IOLTA/EAF funding are availableonline.
There are two types of grants for legal services:
Eligible organizations provide free legal services to clients, provided by licensed attorneys or other supervised by licensed attorneys.
These grants are for organizations whose main purpose is to provide legal technical assistance, legal training or advocacy support. This means they dont provide direct legal services, but provide help for organizations that do.
If you have questions about applying for a grant, call or email the Legal Services Trust Fund Program att.gov.
