Hebrew Letters, Numbers, and Their Meaning (Revised)

The Hebrew Alphabet contained special meanings for each letter, perhaps from the very beginning. For example, the word for EL combines two letters Aleph and Lamed. Aleph originally was a pictograph of an Ox, and Lamed of a shepherds staff. Together the ancient Hebrew word, EL, means Powerful Leader who keeps us together and on the right path.

REVISIONS: Research revealed that some clarity was required for the numbers and the letters for 5, 6, 7, 50, 60, 70 and 500, 600, 700. Creation, both physical and spiritual, is a merging of male and female. The physical side is a metaphor for the spiritual. And these concepts are embedded in the symbols of the proto-Hebrew letters. When this is brought into focus then another mystery is solved. The number of man is 666! The number of woman is 555. And the result of the union is 777. Also we should think of this as 6 + 60 + 600, and so forth, because that is the progression of the letters. Remember there are three phases: The conception followed by the first manifestation in the womb (growth in the womb), the comes the final manifestation when the entity is born to live forever. Though we have a physical existence now, it is not our final and only life. We are physically alive, but spiritually living in the womb. Later we will be born-again from the spirit. Then we will grow and fulfill our reason for having Life.

Man being represented by 666 is a powerful way to show those with understanding that the coming world leader, prophesied to John in Revelation, will demonstrate great spiritual power, though he will not resurrect the dead. However, this one, after all, is only a man!Whereas those without understanding will think that one is God and the Messiah!

The Hebrews considered that they were yoked to EL, who taught themhow to walk with God [EL]. The word Elah means the Powerful Leader who keeps us together and wraps his arms around us. And Elahim is the plural of Elah or Powerful Leaders who do the same as Elah. (The modern Hebrew spelling of these names, Eloah and Elohim, are a departure from the use of the ancient Hebrew vowels aleph, he, yod, vau.)

For example, the Tetragammatron, [yod, he, vau, he] is all vowels, contrary to popular opinion and practice, and would be pronounced ee, ah, oo, ah. If sung, as intended, then the change from vowel sound to vowel sound causes the mouth to naturally form transitional consonants, thus: EE, y, AH, h, OO, w, AH. To not say or sing this Name, or to make substitution for it, is considered by the Scriptures to be an abomination.

And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed. Thereforemy people will know my name; thereforein that daythey will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.Isaiah52.

Hebrew is a theological languageand the letters themselves express a relation with the Creator that transcends any other. The letters are divided into three groups of nine letters, each group is 10 times more powerful than its predecessor. Contained within these groups is a message that tells about the creation as a process of thought, followed by a manifestation of the thought, followed by a final or Great Manifestation that was the original purpose of the Great Plan.

Involved in the process is the testing of those in the first manifestation to filter out any who succeed in overcoming the bad, death, and the negative and obtain, during their mortal life in the first manifestation, the Eternal Life while still in the flesh. These are called the FirstFruits and a High day on the 15th day of the 3rd month of the Revealed calendar celebrates their Life. According to the Torah, nofirstfruitswere to be harvested during the first seven weeks (or ages) leading up to the eighth age of right-ruling.

And from the day after the Sabbath from the day that you brought thesheaf of the wave offering, you shall count for yourselves seven completed Sabbaths. Until the day after the seventh Sabbath (you count fifty days), then you shall bring a new grain offering to Eyahuwah. Bring from your dwellings fora wave offering two loaves of bread, of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour. They are baked with leaven: the Firstfruits to Yahua! Leviticus 23:14-17

Each of the letters contains the modernHebrew character, its numeric value, its name, the descriptive name of its ordinal symbol from the ancient Hebrew pictograph alphabet, and its meaning.

If you wish to download both Modern Hebrew and the Ancient Hebrew alphabets you can do so by clicking on the links below:

ALEPH (OX): ah,eh The dualprinciple,in the mind of the All Powerful, Wise and Understanding Creator, that represents an image of all that exists and all that does not exist, the positive and the negative, life and death.

BETH (HOUSE or TENT): b,bh The symbol of all habitations (places where things live) and receptacles. It is the symbol of anything that contains.

GIMEL (FOOT):g The activity or the motion of contained, limited existence or nonexistence. It is ALEPH in BETH.

DALETH (DOOR): d The archetype of physical existence. The conceptual planned prototype of physical existence. I am the door. whoever enters through me will be saved. John 10:9

HE (ARMS): h,e,ah The principle or concept of universal life. The female principle behind creation. The arms hold or bind, as in a covenant or as in love.

VAU or WAW (PEG): w,o,u is the archetype of male fertilization that is required for creation.

ZAYIN (MATTOCK): z The completed fertilizing act. Creation follows. Actually the proto-Hebrew is more of a plow which prepares the soil to accept the seed. Conception.

CHETH (WALL): hh The enclosure of all unevolved cosmic energy (like the mind or consciousness.) As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.

TETH (BASKET): th The symbol of the initial female energy. That gives birth to the creation.

YOD (HAND): y,i,ee The opposite of Aleph where Aleph represents concepts that could change, YOD is a symbol of what exists in a steady state, continuity.

CAPH (PALM of the hand): k,kh The archetype or prototype of receivers, or containers, from which other containers are copies.

LAMED (STAFF): l The principle of the conscious connecting link. For example, it is the shepherds staff with a hook.

MEM (WATER): m The archetype of thematernalcreative principle. The womb, where the creation waits for birth. (Born of Water)

NUN (SEED): n The archetype of all individual existences. All physical life comes from a seed or sperm and from the egg. All Spiritual life comes from spiritual conception.

SAMEKH (PROTECT): s The archetype of male fertility or sperm and the protective gonads.

AYIN (EYE): silent The illuminating principle behind the act of conception. That life either physical or spiritual comes from the same process. The (mystical) union between male and female.

PE (MOUTH): p,ph The opening from which comes all unevolved cosmic energy. For out of the mouth come evil thoughts.

The symbol of womanhood. The female side (mistranslated rib ) was taken from Man leaving Man with only the male side.

The exalted state of Aleph. The end of death and the negative. Ancient Hebrew letter pictures a sun splitting the horizon line. The sun sets on death and rises on Life.

The archetype of universal cosmic containers. The English word raise comes from this word. The symbol of a head that has been raised up to contain full knowledge.

The Spirit of Elah. Some say the Teeth Shine. But the face does shine, when full of joy and peace and the set-apart Spirit. A full smile causes the teeth to show.

The copies of All cosmic existence. They carry the likeness of their Father. He that has seen me has seen the Father.

The final attainment of individual existence as conceived at the beginning. Like the ARMS above that grasped at the time of conception, the PALM of the Hand now holds what was dreamed about, and waited in the womb, and is now manifested in Reality.

The cosmic state of fertility in Man, both in mind and body. The Father as theof Eternal Life. Androgynous Man becomes a cosmic creator. Note the change of emphasis from 6 and 60.

the interplay between cosmic energies (symbolized by male and female) leading to greater creation.

Like Pe[80] and Cheth[8] from the mouth eternal words forever shape the future.

The eternal force or archetype of womanhood as part of future creation [theor Holy Spirit is the Mother]. Physical men and woman are born-again as individual Sons in the final manifestation. The two of the proto-Man, like thetwo loaves of the Wave Loaves Offering, remain separate and equal Sons in the eyes of their Family [Elahim]

Some believe that Hebrew was the first language ever spoken. I have no reason to doubt that possibility. I also believe that Hebrew, in its best form and sound, will be restored to become the language of all for the ages to come.

Hebrew Letters, Numbers, and Their Meaning (Revised)

I am interested in learning Hebrew, I heard in a Chuck Missler sermon that all the Hebrew letters have meanings that make up the meaning of the word they create. I read above, where you commented about and see that you disagree with that view. Also, this does seem to be impossible because all of syntax and semantics would be forced down to 22 units of meaning. However, I was wondering if you felt there was relation to a words meaning and the characters that constitute the word, could it be that the words tell us something about the characters rather than the characters the words? I guess what Im getting at is do you think it is possible there is some play of syntax and semantics within Hebrew words and Hebrew letters?

As you can see from this post, there are meanings assigned to each of the Hebrew letters including the finals. However, there are two different character sets. The Chaldean letters are the ones in use today. These were borrowed from Babylon and have no meaning associated with those letters. The meaning is associated more with the letter names and numbers and not the characters. Those meanings are more recent and are associate with a three part creation process (thought producing knowledge, set up (prototype), and final manifestation.) The other letters are the paleo-Hebrew letters that are not from Babylon. These are pictographic letters and they, in fact, do add insight and understanding about the Names and about prophecy. For example, the name Yahua consists of four letters that are ancient Hebrew vowels and not the consonants of YHWH. The Name is a power name and was meant to be sung and was later restricted from pronunciation because of the transgressions of departing from Yahua and the Torah. The letters of the Name tell the story of the Fathers hand out stretched over the Son. The second letter shows a man with uplifted arms of joy and praise as the Son was sent to earth. The third letter is a tent peg that signifies that He pitched his tent among us. Then the last letter is the man again expressing joy and praise because the Son did overcome the world and successfully completed the task He had to perform. Using the paleo-Hebrew letters causes those speaking Hebrew to continually prophesy, even without knowing.

If you attribute the same meaning to the different looking symbols, wouldnt you still derive the same interpretation as with the original symbols?

Not necessarily. The numbers contain the message 1-9,10-90,100-900 in the first example. The Chaldean letters say nothing. In the paleo-Hebrew the letters contain the message. Each message is unique.

Has anyone transcribed the manuscripts of the Bible back into the original paleo-Hebrew characters? If so, where could I go to get a copy?

Thank you so much for your response. It truly helps. Ive long believed that Yahushua was put on a tree and not a crossat least not the one the christian church idolizes. In my studies I learned that the symbol of the cross is the sign for Tammuz, so I really dont want anything to do with that. Thanks again..Elaine

Dearest Dr. Sakach, while reading your response to Calvin, a question Ive been meaning to ask you came to my mind. The Hebrew letter Tau in the ancient paleo-hebrew is represented by two crossed sticks. The meaning, as I understand it, is a mark or sign. Matthew 16:24, Yahushua speaks to His disciples about denying themselves and taking up the cross and following him. Could this once again be a wrong translation or misquote and the true meaning be hidden? Could the Tau or the sign of the Tau been replaced with the cross? It would definitely change the meaning. If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take [ my mark] and follow me. As always, your response is waited for and appreciated! Elaine

We may have lost the Hebrew idiom in the understanding of the cross. The Greek is staros, and means a stake. The context of Matthew 16 has to do with walking with or joining with. In other words pick up your walking stick and join Me on this journey. That includes following even to the point of death. The church makes an emphasis on the cross, whereas Yahushua is making the emphasis on the essential action of faith forsaking personal desires, aspirations, and wants and becoming one with Him. In other words, what is each person as an individual going to do with his or her life.

Matthew 16:24, Then Yahushua said to His taught ones, If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his walking stick, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it.

Yahushua, according to some researchers, was not hung on a Christian cross but rather on either an upright pole or on a horizontal pole and hung on a tree in the Mount of Olives.

I guess Id like to ask if anyone has prayed and gone to sleep and been awaked to a loud sound of which there was no explanation and disturbed no one else sleeping a word was spoken..Go to your motherme and my mom had been estranged and before asleep I asked God if there was anything I needed to change or do in my life.and I awoke to that sound and that word but I could not even move and even though I thought to myself ok this is weird I went from that thought to amazed awe and peace but I could not move for like 2 minutes my whole body was shaking.as I looked at my hand I realized this was not an outer shaking it was an inner shaking it felt as best as I can explain like every molecule in my body was animated. It was not scary it was peaceful and amazing. and I just wondered if anyone else has experienced such and any explanation! My Daughter in law at this time were really digging into the bible and she has had dreams that we still do not fully understand. that was my most amazing experience. at another time I had three days of total I dont know peace and excitement and like almost like my feet were just off the ground and this joy unexplainable and this almost urgent need to go out and praise God with all my might! As I had a small child that would have been hard to do! But it was amazing! Ill see your comments on this before I post anything more. For between me and my daughter in law there has been dreams.Just would like your imput understanding or revelation on a possibly deeper understanding of these events!

One would think that dreams are related to the spirit and thoughts of the dreamer, right? That would imply that dreams can be related to whatever intense thoughts a person might be experiencing at anytime, including times of deep spiritual concentration. Yahua wants us to return, rest, be still, and trust. By doing this, we do not cloud up our thoughts with anxiety and frustration. He guides us on the path. And because we all start out on a path of our own making (more or less), we have to overcome some things that others have no knowledge about. The different path, experiences, trials give us unique character and knowledge. Later on, after we transformed and put in a position of helping others, we will know why we passed through these things that make up our life. I cannot tell what the dreams mean. You must ask the Father (EL) for wisdom as James the Apostle wrote.

Please, give me your insight as to the following: I have had a most unusual experience with a bar of soap and my hair forming on this piece of soap the numbers 87. Please give me your account of this number, and or any references that could lead me to higher understanding of the same. I am a deep thinker, and furthermore, I desire to keep getting to know more about my Hebrew roots. Thank you, Mari

I have no information on this number. The Hebrew letters and numbers only apply to prophecy and the entire creation processes. Use the numbers 80 and 7 and find the meanings on the page, and see if that means something.

Hi Timothy I just listened to a broadcast early monday morning on a local radio station, it was by L.A Murzulli he has a few books out and just recently a new one called The Cosmic Chessmatch it sounds a lot like what you are saying including Enoch I looked up the website and read a bit but thought I would get your opinion, his web site is your comments would be appreciated as always Robert

Thanks, Robert, I have a call in to Mr. Marzulli to see if he would consider an interview. UPDATE: He called and we will have an interview broadcast, probably next week.

Hi please explain the number 153 as recorded in John 21 about the amount of fish in the net. Thanks for your time. Shalom jimmy

Like the Hebrew, the Greek letters also have numbers associated with the letters. With the Hebrew, you would want to read the numbers as 100, 50, and 3 or as a digit sum. However, the Greek uses a sum of the letters to form a number. Several years ago a book was published that was written by Jerry Lucas, of pro basketball, and Del Washburn. It was published in 1977 and reprinted again in 1978. The title is Theomatics, Gods Best Kept Secret Revealed. That puzzles me a little and make me wonder what happened to the not so well kept secrets. Anyhow, the authors discovered a process of using the digit sums of key Greek words and phrases. They also used a combination of a word and another word or phrase and used the word as a divisor to see if they could find an even number multiplier. For example, the word for fishes in Greek has a sum of 1224. 1224 / 153 = 8. That means that the number 153 may not be a count at all but a clue. Thus the full net seems to imply that the Apostles should befishers of men. And they were casting their net on the wrong side? The Greek word the net = 153 X 8. Casting the net into the sea 153 X 20. For they were fishermen = 153 X 4. Multitudes of fishes = 153 X 16. Follow me = 153 X 12. Fishers of men = 153 X 14. But it gets even more mysterious. I am the way = 153 X 8 Way, truth, life = 153 X 8 The narrow gate= 153 X 13 I say to you that I am the door of the sheep = 153 X 37 The door (alternate spelling) = 153 X 6 Then 37 starts to have some meaning as well: The Door = 37 X 14 The door of the sheep= 37 X 83. Concerning the Greek alphabet. When I read this book years ago, I compared the Greek alphabets and found that the one used here was different version from Greek today. Somewhat like the Hebrew, the Greek here went from 1 9, 10-90, and 100-800 (26 letters). That dated the Greek to a specific period. Two Greek letters fell out of use. The authors used an earlier form of Greek that was present in the New Testament. Although the Hebrew has 22 letters, it also has finals letters that are slightly different at the end of a word. That gives the Hebrew 27 letters. Is this for real? It certainly seems so. There is a lot more in this book including a statistical analysis using randomly assigned numbers that are still within the scope of the Greek letters. This is some kind of Bible study that one does when they dont have TV.

My Brother,How are you. i would like to ask you a question on a Hebrew word Elohim is this an original Hebrew word or has it been altered also what would be the Hebrew original meaning. if i may also ask would it be singular or plural , Thank you. Brother John

The Name Elohim is a plural noun. But it is plural like family or club Different entities are members of Elohim, including Yahua (the Creator), The Father (EL), the Messengers and other beings of esteem and power. The Name actually means Mighty Ones. Sometimes it is used if reference to the mighty ones of the nations, which does not mean that the Elohim is pagan. When referring to theelohimof the nations the meaning is applies to those whom the nations think have power or are mighty gods, such as Ba-al. But these have no power. IN that case, the name reflects not mighty ones but dead gods.

I am so sorry to bother you. I have been seeking and crying out to our Creator for something deeper. I do believe that me stumbling upon your page is not really a stumble. I am going to dive into all the information you have suggested & I am beyond excited that I am again growing in the deeper things I have always had an awareness that there is something far more as I read Scripture and often I have heard a small voice directing me to places in the Bibleeven to places that I do not have in my Bible. The reason I apologize for bothering you is that 23 was the number that used to come out of all kinds of places that I couldnt help but notice as if my senses were being tweaked and my eyes diverted at times to different places that has 23. Then it graduated to sometimes 11, 23 and now for a couple of years it has been 7, 23. I have read the numbers you have on this page but I am not as intellectually minded and have been struggling to understand what these numbers may mean when put together. Could you please walk me through this? I thank you so much. Liz

The meanings of the Hebrew numbers and the system of numbers tells about the creation processes. Each level 1-9, 10-90, and 100-900 is a plain of existence and a level of manifestation. Simply put is the process of plan, prototype, final product. We are at the cusp of understanding what life is all about. The plan was created before anything else. That result was Knowledge on a high plain that can be revealed to us, should EL desire. The prototype or pattern is Man. Yahushua revealed the process of moving from flesh to immortality. The Final Manifestation is the Sons of EL, which Man will become just like Mans Brother did. Please understand in Genesis 5 both Adam and Eve were called Man. Now when we look at the combination of Hebrew numbers there are some interesting revelations concerning the Hebrew language. When we read or hear Hebrew we are hearing the Wisdom contained in the letters and numbers. For example, the combination 555 represents the female part of Creation. 666 represents the male part of Creation, and 777 represents the product of the male and female: the Sons of EL. The only way you can use numbers like 11, 23 is to convert them to 10 and 1, and 20 and 3. Then read each letters meaning and see if that means anything. The number 7, of course, has its own meaning and is part of 700, 70, 7. Mans number is 600, 60, 6, etc and is called the number of man in Revelation 13. Let me know if what you find means anything to you at this time.

I would like your opinion on the concepts offered by the following website. Basically, they espouse that the Hebrew letters have specific meanings, and the sum of the individual meanings (concepts) support and define the Hebrew word they spell out. This makes the language different than any other developed by man. It means that the language, the meaning of words, cannot change, unlike all other languages. It suggests that there are 22 letters, representing 22 concepts, and that all language can be assembled and communicated using combinations of the 22. In other words, we have 22 marbles in our brains, and everything we conceive and understand can be boiled down to the 22. Ill leave the other conclusions of the significance to you. Theyre staggering. best regards

I examined the web site and found that it was still under construction. However, there was some material that seemed to tell much about their approach. Jeff Benner who founded the Ancient Hebrew Research Center actually is more accurate than the Chronicle Project. Here is the problem that I think will prevent them from reaching the success they

Number 7 Symbolism 7 Meaning and Numerology

The number 7, according to Ambroise, corresponds to the Old Testament but he sees it also as the number representing the virginity. Thibaut of Langres gives also this attribute to this number because it is the only one of the first nine numbers which does not father and the only one which is not fathered. It is considered as virgin and representative of the Holy Spirit to which are attributed the same properties. Macrobe goes in the same way telling that it symbolizes Minerve, born of his father without passing by a mother.

The seven indicates the senses of a change after an accomplished cycle and of a positive renewal.

By 3 other occasions, Jesus will say rather It is Me, also translated in the Greek ego eimi (Jn 4,26 and 6,20 and 18,5-6). Those two mentions of the Christ are therefore equivalent: I Am = It is Me. Also in the conversation of Vassula with Jesus, to verify the presence of This one, Vassula questions Him by saying Jesus?, and Him to reply always by the affirmation I Am instead of It is me, which is similar.

I was born on the 1st of the 7th month 1979. My birth name adds up to seven, and the owl has always been my spiritual animal and also represents the number seven. And if you ask me; Seven stands for death(spiritual and actual), for change and rebirth, for magic, union of the other numbers into one, intuitive knowledge etc.

And for those that think that number seven appears in their life because they are quite special like that., yall be left disappointed sooner or later, I promise 😉

I have always wondered what the 4 – 7s in my social security number might mean? is there any relevance to this that you may know?

RE: I have 4 – 7s in my social security number, What would this mean?

Wow, I have four sevens in my SSN too!

I was born on the seventh month on the seventh day. Pretty cool. When I was six, I would count towards my birthday and I think that was the time I realized how special 7 is to me. I realized one day that there were 7 days til my 7th birthday on the 7th year (it was 2007) of the 7th day on Saturday (which a lot of people believe that Saturday is the 7th day of the week. Look it up) til my 7th birthday.

Ever since then, 7s pop up EVERYWHERE. Even my friends are always pointing it out and noticing it when they are around me. Like one time, I was a library with my two friends and I grabbed a book out randomly and it was a star information book. I joked around and told them, Im going to close my eyes and flip through this book for 7 seconds and that star sign will be mine.

The star sign it landed on was Cancer.

Thats my sign, its partly for the 7th month of the year.

I almost convinced myself that these recurring 7s were just my brain sorting through billions of info and…more…

No. I also believe you are blessed. I too recently discovered number 7 has a powerful meaning. My son was sick for months. He was always on the Seventh floor. Came home for the first time after 7 months!!! Recently, I discovered that Seths timeline of procedures… the dates always was link with our families birth dates.

RE: Backwards 7 with 3rd eye activated look sun

Hi, I have always wondered why the number 7 has always been in my life. Is it the Universe sending me a message or have I left a message for myself from a previous life??

I was born on the 7th day of September (originally the 7th month – Sept is the french for 7)on a sunday morning (7th day of the week).

I am the 7th daughter going both ways in the family (13 girls – 6 younger than me and 6 older than me).

I have moved house several times during my adult life. All the homes I have lived in were numbered either 7 or a multiple of 7. I now live in number 14.

My marriage lasted 14 (2×7) years. It took another 7 years before the divorce was finalised.

There have been many more incidents of the number 7 turning up in my life.

My cars licence plate starts with the number 7.

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this 7 that I have questioned most of my life??

Im bombarded with 7s lately…I have done enough research and I still not sure if it is good or bad entirely but Im slightly leaning towards it been a Number of Satan after reading this site and comments…

If you read the comments…nothing has come out of it…Number 7 seems to create more drama in ones life through co-incidences…

I dont think god would play around our life with Code, Magic and Mystery at the same time keep us guessing as to the significance of 7 while making our lives miserable…also, 7 seems to give HOPE a lot…which is clearly a Satans habit…Hope is Satanic by default.

If you are Hoping that 7 is good or Confused…I dont think its from God.777by Anonymous – 3/17/1312:14 PMI

7 Powerful Bible Names of God with Meaning

God has many names mentioned in the Bible. Each one has a particular meaning.  What are some of the most powerful names of God and their associated meaning?

The first name that God revealed to us comes in the Book of Genesis.  It is ELOHIM and in Genesis 1:1 it refers to the Trinity for ELHOIM is plural and saysIn the beginning God [ELOHIM] created the heavens and the earth. We know this is plural because when God created mankind, He saidLet Us make man in Our own image, according to Our likeness(Gen 1:26a).  Notice that God said let Us make man in Our image.  If there were only One God then He would surely have said,Let Me make man in My imagebut He did not.  In fact in the account of creation all Three Persons of the Trinity were involved.   Gods name, ELOHIM could be thought of as a family name to give  you the idea that there is more than one.  My family name is Wellman.  We are one family but three persons.  Bad analogy I know but it is hoped that you might understand this concept better.  ELOHIM is God in Three Persons and is Gods name that is associated with Creation because the Psalmist wrote thatThe heavens declare the glory of God[ELOHIM](19:1).

This is the name revealed to Moses when Moses asked what name he should give to the Israelites if they asked what His name was.  This is the same title that Jesus used many times in the great I AMs during His earthly ministry.  It is the Self-Existent One.  We are human beings but God is simply Being meaning He had no beginning and will He have no ending.  YHWH is a Tetragrammaton and contains no vowels.  In fact, Gods name was so holy that the Jews would not even dare to say it and even today, many Orthodox Jews will not even spell it out but prefer to spell it G_d because of their reverence for it.  God told Moses to tell them, I AM that I AM or I am the Self-Existent, Uncreated One meaning that I have always been and will always be.   Some Hebrew scholars believe it was spelled EHYEH but no one can say for certain and the pronunciation of this sacred name has been lost in time.  It could also be stated as I AM HE WHO IS (EX 3:14).   The Hebrew verb form of Hayah is to be so this is closely related to YHWH.

The Hebrew name ADONAI in English means Lord or Master.  It describes the Lordship of God over us as individuals.  Adon in the Hebrew means master, steward, overseer, or Lord.  In the context of the Old Testament ADONAI could be said to mean that God is our Master, our Overseer and our Lord. Jesus said that whoever you obey is your lord.  I could put it this wayif He is not Lord of all He is not Lord at all.  What I mean by this is that if you obey Him then He is your personal Lord but if you dont obey Him, then He is not really your Lord and you are actually a child of the Devil and a vessel of wrath (Rom 2:8; Eph 2:3; John 3:35-36).  You cannot claim God as your Lord if you do not obey Him.  He is ADONAI your Master or He is not.  If He is not, then you presently have the wrath of God still abiding on you.

JEHOVAH JIREH is specifically speaking about salvation for in Genesis 22, God provided a ram to be sacrificed after the Angel of the Lord stopped the knife in Abrahams hand from killing Isaac.  This was prophetic too because the Lord God would provide the Perfect and Supreme Sacrifice of the Lamb of God in Jesus Christ.  At the same spot where Abraham was willing to sacrifice his own son is the same place that God did sacrifice His One and Only Unique Son, Jesus Christ.  That place was where Calvary was!  It is not ironic but intentional.  The Lord provided for us Jesus Christ so that we could be restored to a right relationship with God that our sin had caused us to be separated.  Genesis 22:14 is literally translated in the Hebrew to readAnd Abraham called the place The-Lord-Will-Provide[JEHOVAH JIREH] as it is said to this day, In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided. The shall be is prophetic and points to Christ Jesus thousands of years later and in that same spot where the Father would provide for us Jesus Christ Who gave His own life willingly just as Abraham was willing to give the life of Isaac.  This is why this is one of the most powerful names of God that He gives us.

EL is part of Gods name and when you add SHADDIA you are literally saying God Almighty or the God of the Mountains.  Mountains almost always refer to the nations in the Bible.  God is not only the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob but of the entire worldof all the nations.  This expresses the Omnipotence of God.  When Abraham and Sarah were past natural child-bearing age, God told Him thatI AM Almighty God [EL SHADDIA]and thatthose who dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty [EL SHADDIA](Psalm 91:1).  This is where EL SHADDIA is used and why the translators of the Hebrew used the word Almighty.  EL SHADDIA is sovereign over all the earth, over all the nations, over all things in fact.  The Almighty is mighty over all there is in the universe and in heaven which includes the angels, including Satan and the fallen angels (demons).

I like this one because it makes me think about Romans 5:1 which saysTherefore, since we have been justified through faith, we now have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.Peace is good.  Wrath is not.  We had the wrath of God abiding on us until we repented, confessed our sins, and placed our trust in Christ.  The wrath of God was placed on Jesus for us if we have trusted in Him.  If we have not, Gods wrath still abides on us forWhoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him(John 3:36).  That is whythere is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus(Rom 8:1). JEHOVAH SHALOM is used in Judges 6:24 whereGideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it, The Lord Is Peace [JEHOVAH SHALOM]. To this day it still stands at Ophrah, which belongs to the Abiezrites. The Lord is Peace for those who are His own; otherwise He is opposed to you (James 4:6).

If you are not saved, then the Lord is not your Shepherd.  Jesus knows whose sheep are His own and He knows them by name and they know His voice (John 10:3-4).  If you are not of His flock, then He is not your Shepherd.  This is the name given by David when he wrote the 23rdPsalm.  If the Lord is your Shepherd [JEHOVAH ROHI], then He will make you to lie down in green pastures and not brown patches.  His rod (for protection) and His staff (for keeping the sheep in the flock) will comfort you.  If JEHOVAH ROHI is your Shepherd, then He will lead you to still (calm) waters and you can drink from the living water and you will never thirst again (John 7:37-39).  If He is your Shepherd then He will take you through the valleys of the shadow of darkness.  If there are shadows that means at least there is light somewhere near. Your Shepherd wont take you out of the valleys, He wont keep you from the valleys or He wont make you pass around the valleys but He will take you through the valleys and not leave you there.  That is what the 23rdPsalm says.  He wont keep us out of the valleys but He will take us through them and go with us through them in the path of His righteousness (2 Cor 5:21) and goodness and mercy will follow us as we walk in this path and this path will eventually bring us into the house of the Lord and there shall we dwell with Him forever and ever.  That is if he is your JEHOVAH ROHI or your Shepherd.

Maybe you have names of God which you prefer above those I have given.  If you do, you likely have personal reasons for them. Tell us what they are and why. Whichever name you prefer for God, you can pray to a God that is always willing to forgive you and to cleanse you from all your sins (1 John 1:9) however this forgiveness is conditional.  God gives mercy to those who repent of their sins and lifestyle, turn to Him and confess their sins, see their desperate need for the Savior, and place their trust in Christ Who alone can save (Acts 4:12).  There is no other way to be saved.  He is the only way to the Father (John 6:44).  In your prayer life, why not pray to Him in the many names given which are all descriptive attributes of His Holiness, Omnipotence (all powerful), Omnipresence (present everywhere) and Omniscience (all knowing).  Whatever your name is, Jesus will save you.  He is waiting.  Will you come to Him today and be saved while it is still called today (2 Cor 6:2)?

FOOLS!!!!! GOD HAS ONE NAME THE ONE HE GAVE MOSES THOSE ARE NOT HIS NAME, if im loving, is loving my name?

Boni you need to get in the word of God with a clear mind and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you personally what the word pf God is saying in all these verses. Have a blessed day

Also we need to be careful how we used the word (fool) because we can get ourselves into trouble with GOD. Sharing what one receive from reading the word of God does not make one to be a fool. The word of God is revealed to us differently and that`s how the Scripture comes in to play that says iron sharpens iron, because when we share His word with each other it widen our understanding.

Do not call someone a fool(Matthew 5:22)But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, You good-for-nothing, shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, You fool, shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.

Calling someone a fool(Psalm 14:1)The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good.(Matthew 23:17)You fools and blind men! Which is more important, the gold or the temple that sanctified the gold?

I disagree, Genesis 1:26 does not mean God is plural. Yes it says let us make man in our image. But where does it say God is plural. God is talking to someone here. And if you look at the very next verse (Genesis 1:27) is states HE proceeded to make man in HIS image. So the actual creation was by a HIM not a THEM. Al of the trinitarian verses are so clouded that you would have to read it into them. Funny how the Jews never thought of a trinity reading that verse. However, 1 Corinthians 8:6 says there is ONE GOD THE FATHER. Never mentions anyone else. Also the bible says There is ONE GOD and one MEDIATOR between God and man. So Jesus mediates between God and man. Also, when Jesus prayed to God he said This means everlasting life, their coming to know YOU the only true God. Never US the one true God. There are many more verses. Trinitarians try to create this Fully God and Fully man. Or they try well Jesus was speaking as human here and God here, Good show me where it says he would do that. The Catholic Church believed in the trinity and when protestant denominations broke away the retained it, and more sects, fellowships and all those formed while retaining this teaching. So when people like Jehovahs Witnesses come along and are criticized for not believing in the trinity, they are accused of not being part of traditional Christianity and are proud to say so.

Actually Chris, you have a couple of errors in your post here. First, the passage in 1 Timothy 2:5 does not say one God and one Mediator. Rather it says, for one God, and one mediator God and man, man Jesus Christ (as translated directly from the Greek). Unfortunately, any translation you get from the Greek will also include interpretation. For example, I just said that the Greek says and one mediator God and man but I guess I should have said that the direct translation from the Greek is one and mediator God and man. From the context, and the Greek syntax, that phrase really stands out, identifying the mediator as both man and God, such as the phrase should probably read, and one mediator, God and man. There is no addition word to indicate the validity of adding the English word between; it is assumed and interpreted by translators. I would suggest, that between is erroneous, and because in the previous verse Paul has just stated that God is our Saviour, making the verse say (if you will allow me minor interpretation for translation), for God is one, and is one mediator, God and Man, the man, Christ Jesus, (6) who gave himself..Also, in saying that Elohim is not plural nor possibly Trinitarian, may be a little short sighted because of the following singular him and his. We do not have any ancient Israelite writings to identify what they thought or believed on that matter, however we do have, however, the apostles John and Paul. Both of which identify Jesus as the one who was directly active in the creative act (John 1:3 and Colossians 1:16). Seems pretty resolved, right? God the Trinity spoke saying we and our and then the Word of God (Jesus Christ, also as identified in the New Testament, in such places as Revelation) went and he created in his likeness.Just saying.

The Bible makes several mentions of God, Jesus (Son of God, God and Man), and of the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost, The Comforter, Helper, Paraclete, Encourager, Advocate) -John 16:7 New Living Translation. So I dont know about anyone else but I clearly see three parts of God- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Torah NEVER mentions Yeshua, ever. Anyone who says otherwise is entitled to their opinion. However, that belief is based on mistranslation of the original Hebrew text. He is not mentioned until the gospels. The extent of this mistranslation is very apparent by just looking at this article. The author has used several mistranslated references. If youre really that interested in what the Torah actually says then check out the JPS translation. Its much better than any Greek or latin text and MUCH more accurate than the KJV.

When the bible said let us make man it was tge father speaking to the son

Boni you are the ignorant one. However it is ok. When you start to connect with the Supreme Being you will become less dogmatic

WHY IS THIS TRUTH Because you suddenly begin to realize, the more I know, the more HE shows me, and the more HE shows me, the more I realize HE IS SO FAR ABOVE ME, AS THE HEAVENS ARE ABOVE THE EARTH THAT I COULD NEVER KNOW EVERYTHING THAT HE KNOWS RIGHT NOW, OR IN A MILLION YEARS. So, after we become more intimate with OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN, AND HE SENDS HIS KNOWLEDGE TO US WE CLEARLY SEE, THE FACT, THAT WE DO NOT SEE AT ALL! To God be the glory! Yes i do believedthat God has many names in our different needs.Im so blessed today knowing the different names of our Creator our Savior.Im so surprised of the reaction of Boni yet I know God has a purpose in everything.

According to archaeological findings the names El-Elyon, or God Most High, and Yahweh are ancient Ugarfitic/Canaanite Pagan gods, and wsas amalgamated into one deity after the 2nd temple was built, and their fusion was made by the post exilic Jewish diaspora to produce a hellenistic monotheistic religion knwo today as Judaism!

I am that I am. That says it all. Those who think they can put God in an anthropomorphically context are not able to a accept that God is so far from human comprehension awe is all we can conclude. How foolish we puny humans are that God could be fully understand the awesomeness of God. The tiny planet we call Earth orbiting the moderately sized star called our sun in a relatively medium sized galaxy we live in can no more conceive of an all powerful being we call in our relatively recent English language God is a disrespect for his awesome reality stand in awe that is true respect for the force that is responsible for all that was, all that is and all that will be.

If they are names of Pagan gods if I were made to continue, therefore the Christian Holy Trinity is based on ancient Trinitarian pagan traditions, from Egypt, India, and ancient mythological sources!!! This is ia false god!

I think the Trinity can be a difficult concept for our human minds to imagine, but I would like to share something that I heard on the topic, to offer another perspective. God in three Persons does not mean that there are three separate Gods. The sun of our solar system is one ball of flaming gas. But, you will agree that it has three distinct and separate aspects. It is Light, Heat, and Radiation, all at once! When we refer to the sun, we mean the sun as a whole, singular object. The same can be said of a tooth. It is enamel, bone, and dentin. Three parts, one whole. God created many natural things in our world that are three parts in one, and I believe it is for the purpose of allowing us to see the natural pictures of the Trinity.God is One and The only One. But He is also Three in One.

I dont believe the bible teach about trinity

Consider this, GOD IS NOT A TRINITY, BUT A TRIUNE GOD study what this means, and I feel certain youll have even more insight to the deeper things of GOD especially what his character is by his very makeup that deeply reveals HIS SUPERNATURAL NATURE certainly!

OMG God has one name yes but also he has alot of them because of what what he can do hes the healing provide counselor his mercy forgive of sins what a pity how people react when the truth is said..may God forgive your soul

Thank you for those beautiful words re the names of God, I just love them. Please be so kind as to explain to me. the name of the Lord , so that I have a better understanding of it, and in what situations can I use it, it goes on to say, is a strong tower where the righteous can run into. Thank you. Deon

ALL I HEAR IS GOD THIS GOD THAT U HAVE TO BELIEVE IN GOD AND PRAY TO HIM AND TALK TO HIM AND THIS AND THAT I GET SICK HEARING THIS YOU KNOW WHY I STOP GOING TO CHURCH BECAUSE SINCE WHEN YOU PAY FOR THE WORD OR GOD ???? PEOPLE GO IN THE CHURCH LEAVING MONEY BEHIND IN THE CHURCH AND YOU KNOW WHAT THEN ALL YOU SEE WHO GOT THE NICE HOUSE WHO DRIVES THE BEST CAR WHO GOES ON VACATION NOT YOU ..BUT THE PEOPLE THAT PAYS IN THE CHURCH THEY MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR THE PASTOR TO DO ALL THEM THINGS YOU PEOPLE MAKE LIFE SO EASY FOR HIM BUT U GO AND ASK FOR HELP YOU KNOW WHAT HE TELLS YOU LET ME MAKE SOME PHONE CALLS AND SEE WHO CAN HELP YOU NO PASTOR WONT YOU HELP ME RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW ALL THAT MONEY YOU GET FROM PEOPLE COMING TO YOUR CHURCH SMH THATS WHU I DONT PRAY ANYMORE THERE IS NO GOD IM GOD AND ONLY ME CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN HAVE A BLESSED DAY TO ALL THE FOOLS OUT THERE THAT PAY TO HEAR THE NAME OF THE LORD SMH.. GET IT TOGETHER YA

The fact that you wrote in all capital letters is bad manners. Most people know that all caps is internet for shouting at people. So someone has a nice house and a good car. Big deal. I worked hard and saved up for mine. Perhaps you are lazy and jealous and envious. All sins by the way. You went to the pastor demanding help right then and there. No doubt you demanded the church treasury at gun point. If I went to my best friend or a church or a bank and asked for help, even my best friend or a typical bank would need at least an hour to raise money or other help. You are unreasonable and probably a danger to society. People have probably called the police on you because they felt threatened by your screaming or your wild eyes or the bulge in your pocket which might be a gun.

This is why you dont pray anymore? People wont ask: How high? when you order them to jump at your whims? News flash: It is a common experience for people to pray and not get an answer or to get a different answer than what they wanted or were expecting. Even Jesus prayed to get out of crucifixion in the Garden of Gethsemane and He was even more stressed out than you or me because He was sweating blood. Hematidrosis is a very rare condition in which a human sweats blood. Some scientists speculate that it happens when a person is under extreme stress. Modern day dermatological research notes the presence of hematidrosis in people awaiting execution.

When you asked a pastor for help and he or she asked you to sit while they made some phone calls, you should have sat your butt down and quietly and politely waited for the help instead of storming out and calling God and all Christians hypocrites or whatever your reaction was. Beggars cant be choosers. You are asking for the help not them. In the past, I have had to eat crow and ask for help. Know what? Not one of them demanded that I feel humiliated or tried to degrade me. They were gracious because perhaps they were once in the same position of needing help themselves. When a disaster strikes or some cause needs help, who opens up their pocketbook or wallet first? Christians.

I have been on a vacation only once and it was just visiting my brother. Know what? It is my fault because I am a workaholic who does not really like vacations. I like working. I did enjoy that one vacation and I look forward to other vacations but each person is different.

As for paying tithes or giving in the collection plate or basket at church, I actually feel the same way as you but I also know that churches have a huge overhead. Churches have to be roofed to stop leaks. Churches have to pay utility bills. Churches have staff that have to be paid because they are people with bills to pay. Some congregations are more prosperous than others and these are not always Episcopalian. I have seen struggling Anglican churches (really surprised me) and some denominations once known for having dilapidated storefront churches are now prosperous because their members got better jobs. A local church that I know of has a food bank and they have every right to ask those who come for help to join their congregation. It is a free country and a person might join or might join a different church or might not attend any church and call themselves an atheist. As a practical matter though, churches still have to pay their bills. The Bible itself says money answereth all things because we live in a world where money is used as a medium of exchange to run the economy. Alternatives to capitalism simply do not work in the real world. Atheistic communism has murdered ten times as many people as Christianity at its worst (Inquisition, etc.). Even that communist country China is prosperous because the communist party there runs their economy on capitalist lines. Cuba and North Korea pretend that capitalism is bad and their economies are in the toilet. Capitalism and money are like electricity. It just is. Save more than you spend, life is good. Spend more than you save, life is bad. Electricity can run your appliances and heat your home or it can kill you if you t
